3/31/16

Yesterday, my dad had to read Bible to complete the weekly Bible reading goal, so he couldn't watch movie. The movie I watched was called Freedomland. The movie was about detective Lorenzo tried to solve the kidnapping of another woman's son that was kidnapped near the town of Armstrong. The police make a barricade around Armstrong, not letting people getting out of town. The residents of Armstrong were all black people. Being blocked, they were angry and the town was on the cliff of chaos. The woman said that while she was going through a park in Armstrong, she was pulled from her car and her car was stolen while her son was in it. But at the end, we found out that she wasn't telling the truth. When she was about to leave the house, her son didn't want her to leave; but she still leave. In retaliation, her son drink all of the cough syrup and die. I didn't even know that one could kill himself by drinking too much of cough syrup. That movie still didn't have any shooting or intense fighting, but I was still able to enjoy it. I think that detective Lorenzo was played by the same guy who played Nick Furry in Iron Man 2, Captain America, Avengers, and Captain America 2.

This morning, it rains so I couldn't walk. Even though it didn't raindrops wasn't big, it rains fast. For breakfast, I ate cereal. I haven't ate cereal of months. I ate chocolate cereal as I usually ate before. In history, I learned about the French Revolution. I learned that the people were so anti-Christian that they decided to renamed the years, days, and months. They also changed the days of the week to ten days a week. In science, the teacher showed us an entire stingray that had been in reserve. The stingray wasn't big. It was just about the size of two or three hands. In math, I still learned about solve the algebraic equations.

Today, I also translated a new article from English to Vietnamese. The article was short, but I didn't think I did a good job. The article was about five ways to improve one person's life.

This evening, after I have finished walking with my dad, I walk to the mini market by myself to by milk to make caramel pudding. After I finished updating my blog, I'm gonna try it.

3/30/16

Yesterday, I watched movie instead of watching on Wednesday because on Wednesday, I had to wash the dishes. I kinda started watching somewhere in the beginning. The movie was called McFarland, USA. The movie was based on a real event. Mr. White just came to MrFarland, where most of the people were immigrants from Mexico, to start a school there. There're too many characters in the movie that I couldn't remember them all. Most of them are from the family Diaz. Mr. White was a coach who coached his students to run the cross country race. At the end, they were the winner on the State Cross Country Race. And the runner from that school, maybe different teams, won the total of nine first-place for the school. That movie might not have action or any other things from my usual genre of movie, but that movie wasn't so bad.

My dad actually forgot the read my blog, but I think my blog was "well-written". I didn't go straight to sleep after I brushed my teeth because it was still early, and by early I mean 10:12 pm. I read few jokes from the book 1,001 More Great Jokes. I had already described this book, so I won't say anything more about the book. But I'll tell you a joke that I read today, or at least my version of it. Here we go. At a cocktail party of a United Nations, a representative of Mexico ask the representatives of Russia, United States, and Poland, "Pardon me, but what's your opinion about meat shortage?" The representative of United States ask, "What's shortage?" The representative of Poland ask, "What's meat?" And the representative of Russia ask, "What's an opinion?" Do you get it? United States' representative asked so because they had so much that they didn't have any shortage. Poland's asked so because they had so little food to the level of having no meat. And Russia asked so because they had Communist and no freedom, no letting people to have opinions. That was one of the greatest jokes in that book.

Today, I didn't walked as fast as yesterday. If fact, I failed to achieve the maximum time to walk two and a half mile. Nothing significant about my lessons today except that the teacher showed us the shark's gill slits and parts near it. The part was from a relatively small. It had been dissected by tenth graders before. I spend most of the afternoon reading 1,001 More Great Jokes and Edison, His Life and Inventions. I think those books wasn't too bad. I read the biography about Edison becaue there's a book report coming up, and I choose the biography type of book for report. I wasn't worried about it as I worried about my research paper.

3/29/16

Yesterday, I started working on a website of my own. I did quite good. But there're still many problems to solved. I almost had an argument about how to play a song with my dad again. But it was just almost this time. Family meeting was short. Partly because it was late, and also because my mom forgot to prepare what to speak. It's funny because my mom was the one who remembered about the family meeting. I also finished my preliminary outline.

This morning, I walked faster than yesterday's morning. Yesterday's time was exactly 42 minutes. If you thought that was interesting, you will be even more interesting to know that one my first mile and second mile, it took me 17 minutes and 1 second. That means my average speed one the first and second mile was exactly the same. Incredible! I learned from history that King Louise XVI's son is Louise XV, and his son was Louise XVI. That was something to notice about. Well, maybe not that much. Math, one of the subject that I doesn't hate nor like in school, taught me about the order to simplify a equation. Not the one with x plus some number equal some number plus some number. It's the one like, for example, 1(2+3)-1=?. I don't think that I have explain it out here because you already got it, right?

I had no Bible class today. Instead of the time I had to learn Bible, which there's no lesson, I read 1,001 More Great Jokes, the sequel book of 1,001 More Jokes. I think the name was obvious that 1,001 MORE Great Jokes was a sequel of 1,001 Great Jokes, not to mention the description. The book had a lot of jokes. I've read this book, like, five times before, and somehow I still enjoy this book. Interestingly, after a few times reading the same jokes again, I suddenly understand some jokes that I didn't get it before. But, of course, there're still some jokes that I still enjoyed read over, and over, and over, and over again. I had a very exciting news today, do you want to hear it? *complete silence* I said do you want to hear it? *complete silence again* Oh, well, guess I'm gonna say it even if you don't want to. I had finally successfully create a website! Yay! *another complete silence* I'm so disappointed about you, random people. I still copy most of the sample website that was made on Codecademy, but for me, close enough. I the top picture was still from Codecademy simce I could find no better picture. The four pictures below still couldn't be form into two rows, two pictures on each row. But the buttons above could link to Lego's and Nerf's website. Overall, that was a good step for me, but it also shows that I need to work on it a little bit more.

3/28/16

Last Friday, I taught myself two new songs that could be played on guitar. The two songs were El Condor Pasa and House of the Rising Sun. Those two song had a really somewhat Old Western melody. Maybe that's my motive to learn those two songs because I had already memorized those songs by afternoon, which was incredible, at least for me. I had a choice to bring the iPad or the guitar to my friends' house. And I choose to bring the iPad. At my friends' house, we played games most of the time there because our Bible teacher who usually came every Friday didn't came because she thought that there's not gonna be many of us there. I think she thought that because I and few others didn't went there the last two weeks. I don't know what about the other, but I couldn't go because my parents were at Canada and there's no one to take me there. It's also hard for me to get there by myself because I had to go home late at night, and I doubted that there's a bus going around the city that late. At first, that seems like a good thing. But soon, I felt a little bored. I think that it might be, just might, a better idea to bring my guitar.

On Saturday, to be honest, I didn't remembered much. My dad went out for a job. I stayed home and sleep. That's pretty much all. I know right? It's short. I just realized that the post finale version of the Gravity Falls Between the Pines was released on Disney XD that day. I don't know why, but I feel a little regret that I didn't watch it while I shouldn't becausde we don't have Disney XD. Dumb me.

On Sunday, I went with my dad to the pre-fair offline meeting. We literally just stayed there 12 minutes. We were supposed to head to our church meeting at EcoPark at 10:00am. And we arrived at the offline at 9:49am. The result it we're still later that everyone. The downside of the meeting it that I have no friend to play with. My dad thought that my friends are gonna be there, but he obviously was wrong. Which gave me a really bad mood that evening.

Well, today had the most exciting event in this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I finally finished the course that teaches me to make a website, woo-hoo! I finished the course in just today. Exciting? NO, that couldn't describe my feelings, but it was THRILLED. Right now, I'm working on making a website on my own.

3/24/16

Yesterday, I went to my cousin's house. I also bring my Nerf blaster, the Nerf Elite Stockade, with me to my cousin's house. My cousin like my Nerf blaster and ask his father to buy one for him when he go to America. I enjoyed my time there because I could play with someone. I think that I forgot to included this fact in my last blog update.

Now, this paragraph includes everything from morning to the time I finished my normal school lessons. This morning, I couldn't walk because it rains, again. Yep, I had rained the day before yesterday. After I ate breakfast, I started to begin learning. I didn't start as early as the day before yesterday. Mainly because I stayed with my dad and watched him checking my worksheets. I did quite a good job at math, but I didn't did as well in language. In history, I studied about mordern France. The Protestants in France are called Hugenots. The "g" in Hugenot doesn't sound like "j", but instead, it sounds like a "g". I don't know why, but I like the sound of Hugenot. Interestingly, in history homework question, Mr. Smith asked a student name Catherine what how does Catherine, mother of three other weak kings that she ruled for them, ruled France. The answer was cruel and ruthless. That is funny for most of us, and by saying most, I mean all of us except Catherine. In case you didn't get it, I also sounds like Catherine in class was cruel and ruthless. In grammar, I started to right an outline that use phrases instead of sentences. I suddenly forgot what it was called. I had my dad print out the section of the light bulb's history in Wikipedia out to the paper so I could read it without going online. It wasn't as fast as you thought it would be. We had to consider which picture we should keep on the paper. It's pretty funny because in the end, we didn't keep any of the pictures due to saving paper. I had a science test today. I didn't usually did a good job on that, but I had a feeling that I did it well today. Maybe because my Essay section was long and well-written. The rest of the school lessons don't have anything special.

My dad finally checked the article that I translated from English to Vietnamese few days before my parents went to Canada. I had translated some part of the articles excellently, but I some parts that I translated sucks. It was either translated wrong or the Vietnamese word was misspelled. But overall, I was happy about the article that I translated; and I even got 50,000 vnd for the article. The article that I translated was called "Why Was Attitude More Important Than IQ?" I told us about why and how a grow mindset person was more successful, and how could we change our fixed mindset to a grow mindset. I think that my mindset was a fixed mindset, and I intended to improve my mindset by trying to overcomes obstacles and other things. I had a hard time fixing my article. Mainly because I didn't think the sections that I translated had any problem. And I couldn't remember the errors that my dad showed me when I was upstairs with him. I also completed 57% of the section that taught me to make a website on Codecademy in just one day! Can you imagine that? Well, the last special thing today was that I went to one of my uncle's house to anticipate the event of the first month of their baby. Well, that's pretty much all significant things today.

3/23/16

Yesterday, after I finished updating my personal diary blog, I watched movie on iPad. I tried to watch other movies before I decided to watch Back to the Future III. I couldn't watch that movie on iPad because there's no server on which I could watch that movie on. So instead of watching that movie on iPad, I watched it on my computer. I watched it on a Vietnamese website name Phim Moi. It means new movie. I watched about half of the movie until I found out the button to change the HD level of the movie. When I clicked and try to change the HD level, it keep loading so long that I have to reload the page. Unfortunately, after I reloaded the page, I couldn't go to the place where I was before. No matter where I dragged the movie to a part, it keep starting at the beginning of the movie. Finally, after countless of websites that I tried to watch on that I could resume on the part I've been watching, I found one website that I could resume that part. I was so happy because it took me a long time to find one website that could do so. And I was also very disappointed about the previous website. The movie that I watched was the last movie of the Back to the Future trilogy. After Dr. Emmett Brown had been send back to 1885 by a lightning that struck his time machine, Marty McFly received a letter to instruct him to go back to 1985. But after Marty found out that Dr. Brown was gonna be killed a week after the letter was written, he set out to return to 1885 and saved Dr. Brown. But the time machine wrecked there. But they finally managed to return. Dr. Brown stayed there with his new lover named Clara Clayton, and Martin was now able to controls himself whenever someone calls him names. I think I forgot to tell you that I also made chocolate pudding with instant pudding mix. Well, I did. My grandma and I both like that pudding, and so was my sister. I think my dad also like it, but just a little bit. I was quite happy that I could make pudding. But I was quite disappointed to see that the pudding wasn't as solid as I thought it would be. Instead, it was more liquid.

Ok, this morning, my dad checked my tests, quizzes, and worksheets that I did while he was in Canada. He found a lot of mistakes in language and science. As the result, I had to read the parts that I don't remembered again. It sucks because I still have to learn as I normally do. Causing me to finished later. Because today was Wednesday, and I have already finished HTML and CSS lessons, I don't have any programming lessons today. I spend most of my time doing other things. I made a new Lego CCBS mini gun. I didn't have enough pieces to make six barrels so I just make four. I also find more information about the book on Kindle that I used to make a research on. I also checked out the website of a school that taught person to use sword. I was also happy about my new Lego mini gun and HTML. I had tried to make the Lego mini gun for, like, a year or two ago. And I finally achieved it now. I had now completed two programming language courses on Codecademy. I was proud of that. I had never imagined, or to be more correctly, thought of, complete two courses on Codecademy.

3/22/16

Yesterday, I started to study again. History was ok. In grammar, I had another spelling test. Because my parents' not home because they went to Canada to see how life was there so we could, I had to do the part where it wasn't necessary to dictate.

My parents arrived home at some where between 11:25pm to 11:45pm, and they also brought a lot of gifts for is and others. My parents brought home a Play-Doh hair maker, a big nox of Play-Doh with utensils, and a Barbie doll. As for me, I got a Nerf blaster, a Lego Bionicle, and a basketball. I like all the presents that my parents brought home for me. I especially like the Nerf blaster. The blaster was a Nerf Elite Stockade. The color was mostly blue, with a little white and some parts were orange. It came along with a stock that was capable of storing up to 10 blue bodied and orange tip darts. My dad said that it was hard for him to find the basketball. After hearing that, I was grateful for that. They also brought home some candy, instant pudding mix, and jelly mix.

Ok, so let's say about from my morning to end of school. This morning, guess what, it's raining. At first, I didn't know it was raining. When I came out and had only walked a few steps, and I felt that this was just somehow looks like in cartoons, I turn back and walk normally back home. That could be a funny scene in a cartoon. As the result, I started learning sooner. In grammar, I had not thing to do, except two tests. Language and literature test. Yeah, I did that nicely. But that wasn't all. I had to hear the spelling words that my dad dictates to write on my two quizzes that I couldn't do because no one dictate that for me. I spend a lot of the time waiting for the turn to my next subject talking with my dad. You might think that was lame, but I had a great time talking a asking about Canada and my new Nerf blaster. And I didn't have any Bible lessong, either. What's my expression about that? Yay! I could talk more with my dad now.

Today, I finally finished HTML and CSS lessons on Codecademy. I took me more time than I know. I thought that I could finished it before my parents came home. But I've finished anyway. I also borrowed my dad's MacBook to tune my guitar strings. I didn't play guitar often when my parents wasn't home because my guitar strings were messed up ny my cousins, and the guitar's messed up sound wasn't good to me.
